Various Updates

*I survived camp! It took me a whole weekend to recover, but we had such a great time. It is amazing how much better you get to know kids when you hang out with them away from school. I have decided that I think 5th graders are the perfect age!! I realized very quickly that they were different from 6th grade just after we got on the interstate-last year my sixth graders would have been screaming rap songs to the top of their lungs...my 5th graders entertained themselves for about 10 minutes singing "The Wheels on the Bus." Then, when we returned from camp and pulled in the Liberty Park parking lot, one of my boys informed me that he counted 162 18-wheelers on the way home. They are just precious. We had a great time hanging out together-at camp we went canoeing, rock climbing (Caddy and I just watched), and studied about all types of bugs, reptiles, amphibians, etc. Most of the classes were geared toward science. The nights were especially interesting. The first night they were tired and went to bed without much persuasion. I figured they would be more tired on the 2nd night since we went from 7am until 9pm but they were wide awake. In the girls dorm, I thought the ceiling was going to fall in from all the dancing going on upstairs...when we went to check to see what was going on, all the girls were teaching a PARENT how to do the Superman dance :) How funny is that! So all in all, camp was awesome.
*The weekend was pretty low key. Friday night I was out by like 7 on the couch. On Saturday, our friends Holly and Dax brought their new little one, Owen to visit us and spend the night. They had the pleasure of watching most of the Auburn game and the entire Alabama game with John. They are used to his nutty self, but of course it made for an eventful evening. I keep trying to get John to do like a "Monday Post" giving his wisdom/thoughts about Auburn football and the game. You would laugh out loud if you heard some of his one-liners. Unfortunately I think he is going to let the blog remain my thing.
*Today I ordered Will's bedding. I decided on the Cottontail that I posted about before. I love it! I think we are going to do powder blue walls and we are going to do the glider in a chocolate brown fabric that matches the sheet and the ties from the bedding. I am hoping it all pulls together and looks good. My next project is to try and find stuff to put on the walls...
*90210 comes on again tonight. I will be honest...I am not sold yet. Then again, I am not crazy about the first season of the original 90210. I am hoping it will catch on. I definitely like Annie with Ethan...Ethan reminds me of Dylan and we all know how I feel about him. And I totally would have stopped watching the show all together if Brandon would have ended up being Sam's (Kelly's son) father. The CW is rocking this season though. I got into One Tree Hill over the summer and I am totally addicted. I still have never watched Gossip Girl and I hear I am missing out on a very guilty pleasure, however there is not enough time in the day for more than one show per night. John forgot to Tivo The Office for me last Thursday night while I was at camp, so tonight we are going to have to get comfortable in front of the computer and watch it!
*I think I am going to go register this weekend at some point. I have looked at many other people's registries that i know. I really need advice on the carseat/stroller combo. There is Graco, Britax, Eddie Bauer...this means nothing to me. I would love to get your thoughts on what kind of car seat you liked/worked for you (easy to strap baby in, easy to snap carseat into a stroller base, etc.)

I would love to paint something for your nursery if you would like...just let me know. Even if you find something on-line that you would like recreated...that would be very fun for me.

Good luck with the carseats...we've used Graco, but the Chicco (sp?) ones look really nice and cool. We had the stroller/seat travel thing but the stroller didn't last through Betsy. We bought a stroller base which has been nice, but I miss having just a plain stroller. We love our jogging double stroller though... Really test out the weight...that's the killer. Holding a kid and trying to haul a stroller out and open it without hurting yourself, the car or the baby...all part of the process. :)

I have always gone with the Graco travel systems. They have held up over the years for my crew so that is saying a lot for the brand.

We have loved our Graco snug-ride travel system! It has held up very well and I found it very easy to get in and out of the car multiple times a day if needed. We had it installed in the middle of our backseats and even with a "fluffy" baby, we can still move it around pretty easily.

Speaking of carseats, Bentley's christmas present came today :)
As for the baby items, you might want to check to see what "Consumer
Guide" has to say about them. (Boy, you sure put a lot more thought into things as a grandmother vs. a mother) Guess that's why they say it's more enjoyable the "second time around!"
I love you, mom

I love your blog! I had the Graco car seat and stroller combo when Daley was an infant and now we use the Britax seat for after she turned 1. I love them both! Good to see y'all tonight for a minute at least. :)

We have the graco combo and love it. We also bought an extra base for Wes' truck. One great thing about the graco carseat is use can use it without a base.
