Reunion!

We spent this weekend in Auburn and it was so great to be back. Friday night our old Sunday School Class was having a dinner social so we went to that. Then on Saturday we walked around campus in the horrible heat and made our way down to our usual spot for Tiger Walk (no action from Caddy). After Tiger Walk we headed back to Shealy and Clayton's to watch the Auburn and Alabama games.

Clayton smoked two boston butts and some ribs in his new smoker all day, so we ate very, very well that night. Some of our old friends came to Shealy and Clayton's to hang out and watch the game too. It was so much fun to get to spend time with everyone and be back in Auburn. We didn't know how much we missed it until we got back. I am just ready for fall...I don't know how much more walking around in that heat I can do! The funniest part of the night had to be when John got really frustrated with Auburn's offense (he is not a fan of dual quaterbacks) and Burns had just gotten hurt, so he did as he normally does and got up to go outside and get away from the game. Shealy and Clayton's kitchen was really smoky from finishing the meat in the oven. Their back door was open so John went to walk outside and walked right through their screen door. The screen didn't tear, the whole screen door part came out of the frame. As you could probably imagine, this only added to John's frustration. I just wish I could have seen it. Those that did could not stop laughing!
Today has been rather uneventful, though I can't complain. I have mostly rested and done laundry. John has worked on school work. The highlight of the day was that Chick-fil-A was giving away a free 3 pack of their new chicken strips to anyone that came wearing a football team logo. So John and I went there for lunch and both ate for $5.07 because we got fries and a drink in addition to the strips. They were pretty good, we weren't disappointed (food rarely disappoints me anyways these days). Then we ran some errands and came home. We had to go out later in the day to grocery shop and go to Sam's. We were heading back home when there was another Chick-fil-A on our right. So yes, we are those people, and since we had our same t-shirts on from earlier, we went in again and just got 2 packs of chicken strips ($0.00-no tax or anything!!) and brought them home and put them in the fridge for dinner tomorrow night. I can't think of an easier dinner :)
