The Name Game

Who knew that naming a child could be such a daunting task?! John and I did not discuss names until just recently when we found out Caddy was a boy. John really didn't want to come up with 2 options-one for a girl and one for a boy-he just wanted to wait until we knew the sex and then look at our options. Once we had to have a serious conversation about it, I became very overwhelmed. Parents are given a HUGE job when naming a child. This is the name they have forever! I focused too on the fact that we needed a strong name that was a cute baby/little kid name as well as an acceptable adult name. John and I made a list of all possible options. Since we got married, we knew that if we had a boy we would incorporate Michael into his name to name him after my Uncle Mike who is like a second father to me. So we knew we needed a name that would go with Michael. Since Michael comes from my side of the family, we looked for something on John's side of the family that isn't entirely overused. John's Papou (maternal grandfather) was Peter William. Both of us really liked William so at long last we have decided what to name little Caddy...
William Michael Vakakes and we will call him Will.
**John would still prefer that he is referred to as Caddy until he is here in person :)
