Night 1 (Monday): I heard him on the monitor at 11:30 saying "Mommy...Dog...." I went in there and think he had a dream about a dog....he has been having these lately. He was very easy to get settled and back to sleep. I rocked him about 10 minutes. He woke again at 5:00...I heard him on the monitor saying "back hurt....back hurt." I got up to check on him and when I walked in he had his feet on his pillow and his head at the other end...and he was giggling. I told him he was a silly boy and got down on the bed to snuggle with him. I was SO proud of him at this point that I didn't care if he was up for the day at 5:00 A.M. He wanted to rock so I rocked him about 15 minutes and laid him down and I had to go in and wake him up at 6:34!!!! To say that we made a big deal about how proud we were of him is an understatement. I told him the WHOLE way to school how excited I was and what a good boy he was. He walked right into his classroom at daycare and looked at his teachers and exclaimed "Big boy bed!!" John told him when he got home from work. I really do think he was ready to make this transition.
Night 2 (Tuesday): I left Will's room at 7:38 after books, prayers, and a little rocking. I did not hear a PEEP from him until 5:00 when I just heard him saying "api" which is paci. I guess he couldn't find the 7 pacis that were laying all over his bed :) I went in and found him one and he just took it and rolled over and went back to sleep until 6:00!
I know we are far from over this battle. I am sure in a few weeks he will realize he can get up and walk around or something and we'll have a new set of problems to solve. But for now, I am just so happy that this transition is over. I was so tired of worrying about it!! I know we will have bad nights...but for now, so far so good!

That is wonderful Brooke! I am so glad he is transitioning well :)I love reading your "real" accounts of parenting. They prepare me ahead of time for experiencing it with Avery.
