GIRL time
Over the past year or so my niece has become obsessed with American Girl dolls and everything that comes with them :) I too was super into American Girl dolls when I was little and Sutherlan actually has my four old dolls, Felicity, Kirsten, Molly, and Samantha! When I played with the dolls, you could only order from the catalog...they didn't have a store! My parents visited the store in Chicago a few years back to buy Sutherlan her first American girl of her own, Kit. Ever since hearing about their trip and the huge stores, I have wanted to go. I kept telling my sister in law that I wanted to be in on a trip when they took her to the store in Atlanta since I may never have a girl and Sutherlan is the PERFECT age to be so into all the fun accessories. Then I heard about "The American Girl Doll Experience" at the Marriot hotels in cities where there is a store. My mom checked into it and our trip was booked. Y'all....if you have a girl, PLEASE do yourself a favor and when they are of age, do this for/with them. You will have a blast! My mom kept saying she wasn't sure who was having more fun-the adults or the 7 year old. The hotel and the doll package thought of EVERYTHING. There is a pink carpet where the child checks her doll into the hotel. They get a little "credit card" that they sign and this allows them to get a snack in the hotel gift shop. The room is ALL PINK.....bedspread, towels, trashcans....!!! There is a little travel bed on the bed when you get there and it is for the doll (and for you to keep)!! There was also matching robes for the child and doll. We did the birthday package since we were celebrating Sutherlan's 7th birthday so this meant even more extravaganza :) Sutherlan, along with her doll, got matching tiaras. They delivered cookies and milk (normal size and doll size) to the room, along with a birthday cupcake. I could go on and on. They definitely thought of everything!! The store is awesome and totally caters to all things girly. There is a salon where you can drop off your doll to get their hair done or their ears pierced (we did both of course!). There is a Bistro where you can dine with your dolls in high chairs right at your table! I love my boys, but it was so much fun to get all into the dolls and go back to a very big part of my childhood! Thank you Kiki for such a fun weekend!! I forgot my camera, so all the ones I have were from my phone. We took so many more cute ones with my mom's camera, but you will at least get the idea :)
