Will is 2 weeks old today. It feels like he has been with us so much longer. I guess because that first week dragged by, spent mostly in the hospital. And since it is so cold and he is so little, we don't get out very much. We have had a great time getting to know each other since being home! John and I weren't sure we wanted to keep him after our first night (NO ONE (I won't name names but my friends who have young children-you know how you are!) prepared us for how horrific the first night home could be. Both John and I literally spent the majority of the night in the nursery taking turns trying to soothe him. I don't think he closed his eyes from 10 pm to 3:30 am). Since then, he has only woken up once every night to eat and then after being rocked about 10 minutes goes straight back to sleep. We did not do the whole basinette in our room...it has proved to work very well for us. We have one in our den and he naps in there. We only put him in his crib at night and it is like he knows that it is time to sleep for more than 2 hours when he is in there. He is a precious angel and fits quite well into our family...so we decided we would keep him :) The pictures are courtesy of my friend Ashley. She took on Saturday while we were in Auburn. They were too cute not to share. They are also on her blog, so if you read hers you just get to see them twice! I had to put them on mine so my other friends and family could see!

So far the little man likes...
to eat, to ride in the car, to rock, his swing, and to sleep
He dislikes...
his carseat (until the car is in motion), having his diaper changed, having to wait on food, his sponge bath

Brooke- We must chat about this only waking up once a night situation, because I am super super jealous! What time do yall go to bed and get up in the morning? Are you nursing? I really want to make this happen at our house. Please email me with details in all of your spare time:)
I miss this little man (and you too of course!) already! Hope it will work out for us to come by in a few weeks and really take some photos!
So precious! I love seeing pictures of the little man.
everyone has to learn about that first night for themselves. and honestly, most of us think it is just us that has a terrible time - like it was me not knowing what i was doing. our difficult first night started about 2 hours after we got home. i'm proud of you for getting through it.
The new pictures are precious! I don't think I could have described that first night to you-- there is no way to describe it!! You made it though and each night from here on out will only get easier and easier!
As far as getting out, Audrey and I can help you with that! We LOVE to get out and go, go, go!!
Happy 2 week birthday Will!
Ashley did a really nice job on the pictures. I'm just sad I couldn't hang around and love on him more. I think Betsy had maxed out on her "shower" patience. :) Good to see you!
Brooke, I knew you were going to be a fabulous mom. Can you believe he is already 2 weeks old? I told you it flies by so hold on. You are already miles ahead of lots of new mommy's- Will loves to sleep. To get up once in the night is fantastic. XOXO H
He is too cute!
