Christmas Recap

It has been quite a busy week for us, but one we have enjoyed so much. Our Christmas festivities started this past Sunday when my brother and his family were in town. Everyone came over here for dinner on Sunday night. I roasted a turkey in the oven (my very first time! and learned how to do it by googling it...) and John carved it. It ended up being quite delicious. I thought it would be a good idea to build a gingerbread house with my niece and nephew...it did not work so well. Our walls would not stay together and trying to keep my patience and holiday cheer, I just gave Dylan and Sutherlan each an end of the house that they covered with icing and then decorated with all sorts of treats.
Monday morning was our "Christmas morning" with my family since Brandon, Tessa, and the kids were heading back to Georgia later that afternoon. Wentzel, the Webb elf, did not disappoint and filled our stockings at Kiki and Pops' house since Kiki was sure to let Santa know when her grandchildren were going to be there. Even Bentley has a stocking (There are currently 10 stockings hung over my parents fireplace...mom made the comment that she had no idea where Will's was going to go next year, though I am certain she will find room!). Bentley cracks us up each year digging his head into his stocking and pulling his treats out. He even got a car seat from Kiki and Pops so he can ride with us more and won't feel left out since there is now a baby car seat back there as well! We aren't too sure what he thinks about it.
John worked on his man room on Monday afternoon and Tuesday. By Tuesday afternoon, he was sick. We aren't sure if it was just coming anyway or by being up there with no heat brought it on. Needless to say he was sick Tuesday night, and all of Christmas Eve. We did not get to go to church Christmas Eve because he just wasn't feeling well. Christmas morning we woke up in our own house with our own tree which was very exciting! I wasn't sure if I would have mixed feelings about it, but we loved just lounging around together and laughing at how different next Christmas morning will be. Will should be crawling in to see what Santa brought him! I made cinnamon rolls and we went through our stockings (which is my favorite part!). I got nursing pajamas and a diaper bag and John got this... an AUBURN fridge for the bonus room.
He found this right after he started looking into finishing the bonus room himself. I told him that if he finished by Christmas, he could buy whatever he wanted up there. He has been working really hard since he got finished with exams for this semester and I figured every Christmas after this he would not be the center of attention anymore, so I opted to go ahead and get it for him. He knew what it was as soon as he saw the box, but was super excited. Now if we can just get that room finished!! It is coming along. He and his dad are up there making a lot of noise as I type this. It is almost completely sheet rocked and should be ready to mud by Sunday.
I decided to be a scrooge today and go ahead and take down all of my Christmas decorations in the event that Caddy comes early...I didn't want an already dead tree lingering around here until February. I got everything boxed in new tupperware and tried to organize it better than we have the past 3 years.
I guess that is about all the updates I have for now. I go to the doctor on Tuesday for my 38 week check up.
I just had to post this picture of Bentley. This was a treat that was in his stocking from us...forget all the toys he got-he loves this thing. It said for small to medium dogs, but when they say small I don't think they mean 4.5 lbs. It is a block that he has been knawing on ever since we gave it to him.

Hi Brooke!
Gald to hear that you and your family had such a good Christmas. I completely understand your desire to get all the decorations down in case Will comes early. Today was the first chance we had to get ours down and I have been super stressed that I would go into labor and have to come home to a dead tree and Christmas decorations to take down.
Good luck and I can't wait to see pictures of the little man once he arrives!
