Swim Lessons!

Will had his first of eight swim lessons today. I was so proud of him!! We talked these up so much to help him be excited and prepared. He did great! We are taking lessons with Will's sweet friend Ava. They were precious and did so well together. They listened, followed instructions, and remained happy for the entire 40 minutes! Lets hope the next seven go just as smooth!

SUPER excited and ready to begin!!
Poor baby was shivering!
Jumping off at the end was his favorite part!
 Precious buddies!

The Baby Pool.....An account by Alex

When I woke up from my nap on Saturday, my big brother told me to hurry up and get my bathing suit on. There was fun to be had out in the backyard!
Will was convinced I would LOVE being surrounded with all the blow up pool toys...
I decided I would rather have a go at the water....Daddy took my hands...
 Looked easy enough...

 Whee....
Um...Yeah....so I'm not so sure about this....
 It's....really.....cold......
 Like....really cold

It's not funny...Get me out of here....stop taking pictures....OVER IT!!
How could you do that to me?? You expect me to now sit content on this towel while I am soaking wet??
Oooh....a ball....
Fine, I'll sit here and play, but I don't have to be happy about it...
I guess its not so bad...better than the torture pool...

I'm taking matters into my own hands...time for snacks!
Can't waste any!
That's what I'm talking about!
Snacks make everything better (ask my momma!)...
Wow! Only 25 calories in 75 of these puffy things?? Bring on some more!!

Your Laugh for the Day

This one keeps us on our toes....
He has a steel trap for a memory and nothing gets past him!! He is like a sponge right now, soaking in every piece of information we can give him. He constantly asks questions, wants to know what things are, how they work, etc.
This morning Will said something that completely cracked me up! Here is some background knowledge you need for the story to make sense:

1) One of his teachers at school, Mrs. Jonah, is from the Philippines.  She is leaving in a few days to go and visit her family there and will be gone for 25 days. Each day on the way to school Will always asks me if Mrs. Jonah is at school (he adores her).
2) Every night we read a bible story from The Jesus Storybook Bible. Will loves these stories and they are the perfect length for him right now. He is enthralled by them. His favorite right now is David and Goliath. Goliath of course was a Philistine giant.

This morning on the way to school, just like always, Will asked if Mrs. Jonah was going to be at school. I told him yes but that in a few days Mrs. Jonah would not be there because she was traveling to the Philippines to visit her family.
As serious as he could be Will replied, "I want to go with her to see the Philistines. Do you think they know David and Goliath?"

Gotta love a 3 year-olds thought process!!!

Swingin'

Friday night after dinner we hit the park. Alex has not loved the swings until now. He still holds on for dear life, so much that his knuckles are white, but at least we finally got some smiles out of him!

Muffins for Mom

Friday morning I ate breakfast with Will at his school. His sweet class had made all sorts of "Mom" crafts and they presented them to each of us over muffins. Will was so proud of the jewelry box he painted (green fingernails with a HUGE "emerald" ring) :) Totally melted my heart to see how excited he got over his present for me. I also received lots of paper flowers and a sweet poem. We are so blessed by Will's "school." It makes it SO much easier dropping him off each morning knowing that he is being loved on and having fun!!

ELEVEN....Almost ONE!

Alex was 11 months old last Tuesday. I can hardly believe I am in the process of planning a first birthday party!! Where did the year go? This year has flown by, even more so than I think Will's first year did. Before I know it school will be out and it will be birthday week for our little guy! Alex is happy, chill, laid back, hilarious, snuggly, precious, sweet, the list could go on and on. I am loving his little personality. I say this every month but he is just content to do whatever, to be with whoever, and to be playing with whatever. He rarely ever cries, so we know that when he does, he means business! He is crawling ALL over the place and is getting pretty quick. He has not crawled up the stairs yet. As you can tell in a picture below, he has definitely found the stairs, and has managed to get on top of one, but he hasn't really shown any interest to go up them. He really just likes to be wherever we are so he doesn't tend to wander off :) He is still eating baby food, but we have introduced a lot of real food too-strawberries, bananas, blueberries, cheese, muffins, cheerios, and kiwi are among his favorites this month! A few weeks ago his dad decided that he needed a hair cut...he decided this without asking me!!! I can promise you John won't be having any more genius ideas like that one...ever....again!! You can tell in the toilet paper pictures-those were post hair cut :) He just cut the front because it was falling in his eyes, however obviously boys do not understand the whole "no major hair cut until baby is one" ordeal. Oh well, I'm over it! When it is parted, it looks fine :) He just looks a bit more like a big boy. We love him so much and can't wait to celebrate with him on his big day less than one month from now!!
